Evidence-based financial methods

Built on Real Experience, Not Theory

We started paventarilo in 2019 after watching too many brilliant startup ideas collapse under poor financial planning. Not because the founders lacked talent—they just didn't have the right guidance when cash flow got tight.

Our approach is straightforward. We work with early-stage companies in Australia who need practical finance strategies that actually fit their reality. No jargon-heavy presentations or generic advice copied from textbooks.

Every business is different. That's why we don't sell packages or templates—we build strategies around your specific situation.

Honest Assessments

We won't tell you what you want to hear. If your burn rate is unsustainable or your pricing model needs work, we'll say it directly. Better to face reality early than scramble later when options run out.

Context Matters

What worked for someone else's SaaS business might tank yours. We spend time understanding your market, your team dynamics, and your actual financial position before suggesting anything.

Accessible Expertise

Finance shouldn't feel like a secret language only accountants understand. We explain things clearly and make sure you genuinely grasp the reasoning behind every recommendation we make.

How We Actually Work

First meetings usually happen over coffee, not in some sterile boardroom. We want to understand your story—how you got here, what keeps you up at night, where you're trying to go.

Then we dig into your numbers. Not just the pretty projections you showed investors, but the real day-to-day cash situation. Most founders are shocked when we map out where money actually goes versus where they think it goes.

From there, we build a financial strategy that works with your constraints. Maybe that means restructuring how you pay contractors, or rethinking which features to prioritize based on revenue impact rather than founder preference.

We don't disappear after handing you a document. You'll probably message us at odd hours when something doesn't make sense, and that's fine. This stuff is complicated, and questions come up as you implement changes.

Some clients work with us for a few months during a critical phase. Others keep us around as their financial situation evolves. There's no forced commitment—we continue as long as it's genuinely useful.

Fenella Breckridge, paventarilo founder and financial strategist

Fenella Breckridge

Founder & Financial Strategist

I spent eight years in corporate finance before starting paventarilo. Watched countless startups pitch for funding with beautiful slides and terrible financial fundamentals. The disconnect bothered me.

In 2018, I left my job to consult independently. Started helping a friend's tech company sort out their mess of spreadsheets and contradictory projections. Word spread, and suddenly I had more work than I could handle alone.

Now we're a small team working with about 30 active clients across Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Still selective about who we take on—not every founder is ready to hear hard truths about their business, and that's okay.

What You Can Expect

Clear Communication

No finance-speak unless absolutely necessary. If we use a technical term, we'll explain what it actually means for your business in plain language.

Realistic Planning

We build projections around probable scenarios, not best-case fantasies. You'll know what success looks like and what warning signs to watch for.

Responsive Support

Questions don't wait for scheduled meetings. When you need clarification or something urgent comes up, we respond quickly—usually within a few hours.

Ongoing Learning

We want you to understand this stuff, not just rely on us forever. Each interaction is a chance to build your own financial literacy and confidence.
